After meeting in Philadelphia, we didn’t know if we would ever see each other again. However, we continued to talk online and text. Little did we know that we would have the opportunity to see each other again two weeks later and that Peter would meet Lauren’s family!

Two weeks after the conference in Philadelphia was the Harvard-Yale football game, which was hosted by Yale. Lauren happened to be home that weekend visiting her family in Connecticut, just twenty minutes from the game. Peter traveled to New Haven with his friends, but skipped the game to be with Lauren.

That day, just two weeks after we met, Peter was introduced to Lauren’s family. Lauren’s grandmother, Anita, also happened to be in town from Los Angeles that weekend. She said about the future groom, “What a nice young man!” It was perhaps a hasty decision for Peter to meet Lauren’s family so soon, but he fit in so well. Without the help and support of both of our families, our long distance relationship would have been nearly impossible.

If it weren't for the Harvard-Yale game, we might not be getting married!
